Mario Kart 64 (マリオカート64 Mario Kāto Rokujūyon?) is a 1996 go-kart racing game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 video game console. It is the successor to Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and is the second Mario Kart game. It was released first in Japan on December 14, 1996 and in North America and Europe in 1997. In January 2007, Mario Kart 64 was released as a downloadable Virtual Console title on the Wii.[2] Changes from the original include the move to polygon-based true 3D computer graphics for track design, and the inclusion of four-player support. Players take control of characters from the Mario universe, who race around a variety of tracks with items that can either harm opponents or aid the user. The move to three-dimensional graphics allowed for track features not possible with the original game's Mode 7 graphics, such as changes in elevation, bridges, walls, and pits. However, the characters and items remained 2D pre-rendered sprites. The game was critically well received and was a best-seller although the game's use of billboard sprites was criticized by some.

Mario Kart 64 is the sequel to Super Mario Kart for the Super NES & began what is one of the most popular Nintendo racing games today. This game features about 8 characters (Excuse me if I'm wrong. I haven't played it in a while.)
With this being one of the first racing games for the N64, this game featured the Rumble feature. Later until now, practically all N64 games use the Rumble feature. This game was one of the best I've played on the N64 besides Super Smash Bros.

Super Mario 64 DS (known as Super Mario 64 × 4 in development) is a game from the Super Mario series made for the handheld game system Nintendo DS. It was the first Mario game to be released on the Nintendo DS and is also the first 3D Mario game for a handheld console. The game is a remake of Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64, bearing some new features on its storyline, gameplay and graphics. Unlike Super Mario 64, Mario is not the only playable character (nor is he even available at the start); Yoshi, Luigi, and Wario become playable characters and also join the adventure in order to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. Other new features within the game include a multi-player mode, in which up to four players can play simultaneously on each Nintendo DS connected together locally; minigames to play with each character, and new additions to the story mode such as new missions and levels.

Super Mario 64 (Japanese: スーパーマリオ64 Hepburn: Sūpā Mario Rokujūyon?) is a 1996 platform video game published by Nintendo and developed by its EAD division for the Nintendo 64. Along with Pilotwings 64, it was one of the launch titles for the console. It was released in Japan on June 23, 1996, and later in North America, Europe, and Australia. More than eleven million copies of Super Mario 64 have been sold.An enhanced remake called Super Mario 64 DS was released for the Nintendo DS in 2004. In the game, Mario explores Princess Peach's castle and must rescue her from Bowser. As one of the earlier three-dimensional (3D) platform games, Super Mario 64 is based on open world playability, degrees of freedom through all three axes in space, and relatively large areas which are composed primarily of true 3D polygons as opposed to only two-dimensional (2D) sprites. The game established a new archetype for the 3D genre, much as Super Mario Bros. did for 2D sidescrolling platformers. In the evolution from two dimensions to three, Super Mario 64 places an emphasis on exploration within vast worlds that require the player to complete multiple diverse missions, in addition to the occasional linear obstacle courses as in traditional platform games. While doing so, it still preserves many gameplay elements and characters of earlier Mario games.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit was released on July 21, 2001 in Japan, August 27, 2001 in North America, and September 14, 2001 in Europe. Mario Kart: Super Circuit is also the first handheld Mario Kart game. Mario Kart: Super Circuit was re-released on the 3DS's Virtual Console exclusively to Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors in Australia on December 15, 2011, and in North America, Europe, and Japan on December 16, 2011. Mario Kart: Super Circuit was re-released again on the Wii U's Virtual Console in North America on November 13, 2014. This is the only Mario Kart game where the international and Japanese titles differ. Mario Kart: Super Circuit is the only Mario Kart to be developed by Intelligent Systems; the others (excluding the Mario Kart Arcade GP series, which have been developed by Namco, and Mario Kart 7, which was partially developed by Retro Studios) have been developed by Nintendo EAD. Additionally, this is the last Mario Kart game where the drivers are sprites rather than models.
